In the eve of market liberalization on 2015, Perodua is planning to make their own sedan to stay competitive in market. According to its MD, Dato Aminar Rashid, the plan is however depend on approval from its partner (Daihatsu Motor Corp) and shareholders. He also mentioned that the cost of building the sedan will be very expensive so they probably will team up with UMW Holdings should the plan is on.
For admin, there is no need for Perodua to build sedan as their compact demand is good and is expected to increase due to soaring fuel price. As alternative to hybrid, small and lightweight car provide better fuel efficiency compare to midsize car or sedan.
