Proton is reported seeking RM3bil fund from government and Petronas to develop new model including electric car. However the request was rejected by both government and Petronas as they could not justify why such big amount is needed. Proton sees the sales slumped by 30% at 21% market share in 2013.
For admin, Proton must improve in some key area. The outdated design like 10 year old Persona must be phase out and must focus to sell Preve as its replacement with reasonable price range as current Persona. 2nd thing new model must have good design to appeal the buyers. Design is no doubt the first thing come to the buyer mind before putting the money on car. This we think what missing on Proton current business direction. The 2014 is predicted to be tough unless drastic improvement is made.
