Proton is reported recalling 5280 units of its Inspira model made between September 2010 to May 2011 due to abnormal wear on its ‘Drive Belt Pulley’. Proton said it is inline with Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia free inspection and repair campaign involving the V-ribbed belt and brake booster for its selected CBU model. The Inspira is a Proton model which derived from original Mitsubishi Lancer.
Proton said the wear and tear on the parts, may result in battery fast depletion, engine overheating and heavy steering wheel. Notification letter will be sent to affected customers to bring back their car for rectification. No labour and part costs will be charged during the process.
